Today, SDS dropped an entirely new Vintage Series, and it’s one of those content days where offline grinders, online competitors, and theme‑team builders all get something juicy. There’s a new Conquest map, a Diamond Quest map, a Mini Seasons challenge, program reward paths, and a whole suite of packs with collection rewards. Let me break down what’s worth your time and which cards actually matter for the meta.

What’s in the Program and Where to Get It

The Vintage Series program reward path gives you five immediate player items: Matt Carpenter (3B, 94 OVR), Lou Gehrig (1B, 93 OVR), Michael Conforto (LF, 93 OVR), Robbie Ray (SP, 92 OVR), and Luis Arraez (2B, 92 OVR). Beyond that, you can unlock exclusive cards by finishing specific game modes:

  • Conquest: Complete the Vintage Conquest map to earn a 93 OVR Vintage Nolan Arenado.
  • Diamond Quest: Rolling the Epic reward in this map can get you 93 OVR Fred McGriff or 93 OVR Luis Castillo. You can also buy them on the marketplace if your luck runs dry.
  • Mini Seasons: The challenge rewards include Mitch Garver (C, 93 OVR), Ryan McMahon (3B, 92 OVR), Raul Ibanez (LF, 92 OVR), and Matt Strahm (RP, 92 OVR).

Pack Structure and Collection Rewards

The new Vintage packs come in three tiers. The Deluxe guarantees one Diamond, the Premier guarantees three Diamonds, and the Ultra guarantees four Diamonds rated 92+ and one Diamond rated 93+ from the series. Top chase cards in those packs include Gary Sanchez (94), Garrett Crochet (94), Chase Utley (94), Larry Walker (94), Teoscar Hernandez (93), and several others like Xander Bogaerts, Jose Alvarado, and Tyler O’Neill. The full list of about fifteen Diamonds follows a similar pattern—mostly 92–94 OVR players with solid theme‑team potential.

In the Legends and Flashbacks Collections, the Vintage Collection rewards you for collecting cards from the series: 13 cards gets you Joc Pederson (94 OVR), 21 gets you Ubaldo Jimenez (95 OVR), and 29 gets you Ketel Marte (96 OVR). Derek Jeter also appears as a rare Chase card in this ecosystem, but he’s not the only star.

Meta Impact: Pitchers Steal the Show

Four cards from this drop crack the top‑25 overall Meta Overall rankings, and three of them are pitchers. Ubaldo Jimenez debuts as the #23 overall card and #4 starting pitcher. He’s one of my favorite arms to use—Outlier sinker, elite movement, and incredibly balanced attributes. Jose Alvarado (92 OVR) lands as a top‑25 card and the #3 relief pitcher in Diamond Dynasty. That’s impressive for a pack‑level card that will hover near quick‑sell value. Then there’s Matt Strahm, who takes the #2 relief pitcher spot. He’s a lefty with extreme reverse platoon splits: 125 H/9 against right‑handers and 102 Clutch, making him a nightmare in high‑leverage innings. He lacks pure velocity but compensates with elite control and a solid pitch mix.

Progression Made Easy (Finally)

Here’s the part I love most: I finished both the Vintage program and the May Spotlight Week 4 program just by playing the new Conquest map. I didn’t even equip any new cards. I used my own theme team—Braves squad, Tier 3—and knocked out the programs before I cleared the last stronghold. That’s a massive quality‑of‑life improvement. In past years, you were forced to use specific new cards to complete missions; now you can play however you want and still earn everything.

As a bonus, completing this week’s May Spotlight program rewards a 95 OVR Aaron Judge that’s actually better on paper than his live series card (even with Inside Edge boosts). Parallel Mods make theme teams more viable than ever, and the lower‑tier collection rewards feel obtainable without emptying your Stub bank.
